You can  enjoy the benefits of a diesel  motorhome without the burdens of ownership -  motor home rentals are quite popular. Very similar to renting a vacation home or a rental car,  you can lease  a really nice motorhome for instead of buying. If you’re not a dyed-in-the-wool motorhome enthusiast, motorhome rentals can be an excellent way to see the country on your next vacation.

Motor home rentals actual costs can seem quite steep , even prohibitively expensive, for some folks. It’s not unusual for a nice class C motorhome to rent for $250 per day, plus fuel and insurance. If you plan to drive a lot of miles, make sure you factor in fuel usage, as these vehicles can get from 5 to 15 miles per gallon, depending on what you have rented.

Keep in mind that most motorhome rentals usually require you to have your own insurance specifically purchased  to cover their motorhome. But, even considering these costs, the benefits can be great, as you travel the countryside while carrying your home with you.

For around $2,500 a week (which is just a rough guesstimate), you can vacation in a $100,000 motorhome, leisurely, and at your own pace. You’re not tied to expensive hotels and (which can easily cost you $250 per night in) , fast-food restaurants and you set the pace and direction for your vacation. No expensive food bills – you cook your own food. Motor home parks can sometimes be a little pricey, but they will always be cheaper than a nice motel room. You can stay or leave sooner than planned, it’s all up to you.

What if you already own a motorhome and are interested in renting it out when you are not using it? Many owvers do – buy you should do your homework and know exactly what you need to do to protect yourself and your motorhome as far as liability, rental agreements, insurance and deposits go. Many motorhome owners subsidize their vacation costs by renting out their motorhome during when it’s not being used. There is definitely some risk, but you can minimize your exposure, and help to offset some of those expenses that come with motorhome ownership.
